Pruning leaves and pseudo bulbs on Orchids?
I have a Chocolate Oncidium Orchid that I’ve grown for 6+ years. The leaves are getting quite bushy. Should I, can I prune them without hurting the plant? Any other advice about mature orchids? It hasn’t flowered yet this season as it usually does.
No – it sounds like you have a healthy specimen. More light will help produce flowers.
There is never a need to ‘prune’ the leaves as they will mature and fall off on their own.
If the plant is not flowering and overcrowded, wait until you see the beginning of new root growth and then divide it.
